Epaulette Wins 2012 Golden Rose Stakes – Race Results

September 17th, 2012

Epaulette has won the $1 million Golden Rose Stakes, which took place at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse last Saturday September 17, 2012.

The three-year-old proved too good for the rest of the 2012 Golden Rose Stakes field as he sailed away to win the race ahead of stable mate Albrecht, who finished second.

Ashokan finished two and a half lengths back in third position, while Ninth Legion passed the post in fourth.

Race favourite, Nechita, finished sixth in the 2012 Golden Rose Stakes.

Epaulette was paying odds of $13 to win the 2012 Golden Rose Stakes at bookmaker.com.au.

The Commands colt has now won three of his six race starts and has earned more than $850,000 in prize money.

Epaulette placed third in the Group 3 The Run To The Rose at Rosehill Gardens first-up, prior to his 2012 Golden Rose Stakes win last Saturday.

The galloper is nominated for both the $3 million Cox Plate 2012 and Group 1 Caulfield Cup 2012 later in the spring.
