Final Field & Barrier Draw – 2012 Golden Rose Stakes

September 11th, 2012

The final field and barrier draw has been revealed for the 2012 Golden Rose Stakes, which is set to run at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse this Saturday September 15, 2012.

Kabayan has drawn the inside barrier for the $1 million race, while Albrecht has drawn the widest gate of 10.

Nechita will be out to continue her unbeaten career in the 2012 Golden Rose Stakes.

The three-year-old has won both her previous race starts, with her most recent coming in the Group 3 Silver Shadow Stakes at Warwick Farm Racecourse on August 25, 2012.

Having already accrued close to $120,000 in prize money, Nechita will be stepping up to Group 1 competition for the first time in her short horse racing career.

The Fastnet Rock filly drew barrier five for the 2012 Golden Rose Stakes.

Patinack Farm Racing CEO, Peter Beer, insists he was not concerned coming into today’s barrier draw and was instead focused on her step up to a higher grade of racing.

“I think the barrier was the least of our worries. She’ll ping away,” he said.

“This is a step up again against the colts.

“It’s going to be a very hard race to win.”

All Too Hard did not accept for the 2012 Golden Rose Stakes, with Beer revealing the colt will now run in the Group 1 George Main Stakes at Royal Randwick Racecourse on September 22, 2012.

Dear Demi and Jade Marauder were the only other two three-year-olds not to accept through to the 2012 Golden Rose final field and barrier draw.
